STEVE'S GAMES — Android install guide (version 1.0) ==================================================== What you have: StevesGames-1.0.apk (about 8 MB). It works on Android 8 and newer, including Android 17. It is not on Google Play, so it is installed by hand ("sideloading"). It needs no account to play. INSTALL (2 minutes) 1. Get the file onto the phone: email it to yourself, drop it in Google Drive, use Nearby Share / Quick Share, or plug in a USB cable. Then open it from the phone's Files or Downloads app (or tap it in the email/Drive app). 2. Android will say it can't install unknown apps from that app. Tap "Settings", switch on "Allow from this source", press Back, then tap Install. (You can turn that permission off again afterwards.) 3. If Google Play Protect says the app is unrecognized, tap "More details" then "Install anyway". It shows this because the app is not from the Play Store. 4. Open "Steve's Games" from the app drawer. PLAYING - 16 games: 2048, Reversi, Sudoku, Path, Binary, Crowns, Sokoban (100 levels + a level designer), Missile Command, Texas Hold'em, Texas Hold'em - Video Slots, and six arcade classics (Pac-Man, Tetris, Snake, Space Invaders, Galactic Swarm, Super Asteroids). - By default everything is LOCAL: scores and saved games stay on the phone. Nothing is uploaded. The pill at the top right of the home screen says "Local". - Anyone with a games.home.shortenhome.com account can tap that pill > Sign In to sync statistics with that account. Signing in never uploads the local stats, and signing out returns to the separate local games. (Skip this if you don't have an account.) - All money in the poker games is pretend game money. - Games pause when you leave the app; tap Resume when you come back. UPDATING / REMOVING - To update, install a newer StevesGames APK over the top; saved games are kept. - To remove, long-press the icon > App info > Uninstall. That also deletes saved games.
